Da Pont-Saint-Martin si sale seguendo le indicazioni per Gressoney-Saint-Jean (30 Km circa). Prima di arrivare si attraversano i seguenti paesi: Tour d'Herreraz (comune di Perloz), Lillianes, Fontainemore, Issime, Gaby. Giunti a Gressoney si oltrepassa il centro del paese (dove si trovano la chiesa parrocchiale ed il cimitero) e si prosegue per un lungo rettilineo che termina con una curva stretta: lì si trova il parcheggio di Chemonal. ARRIVO: Testa Grigia (3314 m) QUOTA MASSIMA: 3314 m DISLIVELLO: 1907 m LUNGHEZZA: 7.5 Km (15.0 Km) DURATA: 5:30 h (10:00 h) PERCORSO: Lasciata l'auto nel piazzale, si segue il sentiero n. 6 fino a raggiungere il villaggio di Alpenzu Grande (1 h). Il sentiero attraversa l'abitato, si dirige verso un acero secolare e qui si biforca: seguire la traccia che sale tra i pascoli, in direzione delle baite soprastanti. Superato questo abitato, si passa vicino ai resti di case diroccate, poi la salita riprende per arrivare prima a Ondermontel, poi all'alpe Loasche. Il Colle Pinter (2777 m) ormai e' in vista e si raggiunge in meno di mezz'ora, dopo aver guadato un ruscello ed aver risalito il crinale dove l'erba lascia progressivamente posto ai sassi. Sotto il colle, sul versante della Val d'Ayas, si trovano dei laghetti. Giunti al colle si svolta a destra, risalendo il crinale tra rocce mobili e friabili che dominano il paesaggio. Dopo circa mezz'ora di salita si raggiunge una dorsale semi pianeggiante. Il sentiero si dirige a nord est e raggiunge la deviazione per il bivacco Lateltin (3115 m). Procedendo verso la vetta si aggirano alcune rocce esposte, fino a raggiungere uno sperone superabile con l'ausilio di una catena. Poco dopo il tracciato piega sul versante di Gressoney, sotto la cresta, per raggiungere l'ultimo tratto della salita che separa dalla vetta: una fune di metallo aiuta gli escursionisti a superare quest'ultima difficoltà. Sulla sommità (3314) si trovano una Madonnina in metallo ed una campana. Il panorama spazia su 360° e tutte le principali vette della Valle d'Aosta sono distintamente visibili. NOTE: Il percorso presenta tratti esposti e con rocce friabili, occorre prestare attenzione a non far cadere sassi sugli escursionisti a valle, rispettando opportune distanze di sicurezza. La gita non richiede attrezzatura o competenze alpinistiche, tuttavia per certi passaggi potrebbe essere prudente munirsi di corda. In caso di maltempo la catena ed il cavo di acciaio che aiutano a superare i tratti più esposti possono rivelarsi dei pericolosi conduttori di fulmini, cui la zona è soggetta. La campana sulla vetta è stata posta dalla sezione CAI di Parabiago nel 1978. Lungo il percorso e' facile incontrare delle marmotte. From Pont-Saint-Martin follow the signs to Gressoney-Saint-Jean (about 30 Km). Before to get it you pass through the following villages Tour d'Herreraz (Perloz), Lillianes, Fontainemore, Issime, Gaby. In Gressoney you have to go beyond the downtown (where the church and the cemetery are) and keep on a long straight road to the end of which there is a curve: there is Chemonal parking. END: Testa Grigia (3314 m) MAX ALTITUDE: 3314 m ALTITUDE DIFFERENCE: 1907 m LENGTH: 7.5 Km (15.0 Km) DURATION: 5:30 h (10:00 h) PATH: Leaving the car in the square, follow the walkway n. 6 until Alpenzu Grande village (1 h). The path crosses the hamlet, goes toward a very old and big maple and ther splits into two directions: you have to follow the track going up to the above houses. After this settlement you pass near to the ruins of some old buildings, than the slope starts again and gets in a first time to Ondermontel Alp and afterwards to Loasche Alp. It's now possible to view The Pinter Pass (2777 m) and you get it in about an half hour after having waded a brook and having gone up the crest, where the grass lets gradually place to the rocks. Under the pass, in Val d'ayas side, it's possible to view some little mountain lakes. At the pass you have to turn on the right, going up along the crest among mobile and crunbly rocks, that prevail on the landscape. After about an half hour you gets a level land. The path goes toward North-Est and gets the deviation for Lateltin bivouac (3115 m). Going on you move around some leaning rocks, till to join a stone spur that you can pass by the aid of a chain. A little later the path goes on the Gressoney side, under the crown, in order to reach the last part of the slope: a metal rope will help you to overcome this last difficulty. On the top there are a Virgin statue and a bell. The landscape is 360° wide and all main peaks of the Aosta Valley can be easily seen. NOTES: The path has leaving out areas with friable stones, so that it's necessary to keep attention not to roll stones on other hikers and to hold off each other for securiy reasons. The trip doesn't require climbing equipment or know how, nevertheless some passages could be more easily overcome with a rope. In the event of foul weather the metal chain and the metal rope - helpfull to to get over exposed areas - could become dangerous conducers of lightning, frequent in the zone. The bell on the top was setted by Parabiago CAI section in 1978. Along the trip it's possible to met some prarie dogs. |
